Discipleship Project — Andhra Pradesh (Phase 1)

About Project

India is one of the most spiritually diverse nations in the world, and while many people come to faith in Christ, a large number of believers lack consistent discipleship and biblical training. Many churches, especially in rural and underserved areas, have limited resources to provide ongoing spiritual growth and leadership development. As a result, many Christians struggle to develop a strong foundation in God’s Word and to live out their faith effectively in their daily lives.

Inspired by the mission of the early church and the call to make disciples, the Acts Eight Project is dedicated to strengthening believers and raising committed followers of Jesus Christ. Through this ministry, we visit churches and communities to conduct discipleship meetings, biblical teaching sessions, prayer gatherings, and spiritual encouragement programs. Our goal is to help believers grow in their relationship with Christ and become active participants in God’s mission.

The Acts Eight Project impacts lives by equipping believers with a deeper understanding of Scripture, strengthening their prayer life, encouraging Christian fellowship, and empowering them to share the Gospel with confidence. Through practical teaching and personal encouragement, believers are inspired to serve faithfully in their churches, families, and communities.

Our vision is to raise a generation of disciples who are rooted in God’s Word, passionate about prayer, committed to serving others, and bold in sharing their faith. Through the Acts Eight Project, we seek to strengthen local churches, develop spiritual leaders, and help expand God’s Kingdom across India and beyond.

Like in Acts 8, where Evangelist Philip, and later Peter and John, preached from village to village near Samaria, we believe God is calling young evangelists to go everywhere people live, meeting them one-to-one, sharing Christ in person with love and clarity.

  • Mandal Focus: India has many mandals; each mandal typically includes 18–20 villages. We aim to reach each village systematically.
  • In-Person Evangelism: Following Philip’s example, our evangelists go without visible materials (no Bible or tracts in hand), sharing Scripture from the heart. This personal approach helps minimize opposition while keeping the message central.
  • Scripture-Rooted: Evangelists are trained to present the gospel from the Bible, explain salvation, and invite people to follow Jesus—clearly and compassionately.
  • Discipleship Pathway: Each new believer is connected to ongoing follow-up, a local fellowship, and simple, reproducible discipleship tools.

We identify and invest in young evangelists with:

  • Field Assignments: Real village-to-village engagement with clear goals and accountability.
  • Scriptural Knowledge: How to share the gospel from the Bible, answer common questions, and lead people to Christ.
  • Theology Foundations: Essential doctrines for healthy discipleship and ministry integrity.
  • Ministry Skills: Prayer, listening, testimony sharing, house-to-house evangelism, and starting small discipleship groups.

We will conduct 335 two-day workshops across the state (covering all 671 mandals plus one state-level hub).
Each workshop includes:

  1. Life in the Holy Spirit — Who He is, how He leads, and how to minister in His power.
  2. Basic Theology — The gospel, salvation, baptism, church, and mission.
  3. Biblical Evangelism — How to share Christ one-to-one, village to village, with cultural sensitivity.
  4. Field Practicum — Teams engage nearby homes/streets and debrief with mentors.

Outcome Goal: At least 10 trained evangelists per mandal, ready to serve their region.

  • Go Light: No visible materials; the Word is carried in the heart and spoken with boldness.
  • Go Personal: Conversations, not crowds; people, not programs.
  • Go Everywhere: Every lane, every hamlet, every village.
  • Go Again: Re-visit, follow up, and begin discipleship where there is response.
  • Training & Mentoring: Raising consistent, faithful village evangelists.
  • Travel & Logistics: Reaching remote mandals and scattered villages.
  • Meals & Venues: Hosting two-day workshops for local workers.
  • Discipleship Materials: Simple tools for new believers and follow-up (taught, not carried).

Statement of Faith (Brief)

We believe in one God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; the inspiration and authority of the Holy Scriptures; salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ; the call to baptism and discipleship in the local church; and the mission to proclaim the gospel to every person.
